Martina Gresia, soprano, was born in Rome in August 1997. She began her musical studies at a very young age with Maestro Massimiliano Damato and her vocal studies with soprano Nunzia Santodirocco. She refines her repertoire with Maestro Antonio Pergolizzi and, in the last period, has begun a course of advanced study with Maestro Otello Visconti.

At just 19 years old, she began winning international opera competitions such as Jole De Maria, Ottavio Ziino, and Voci Verdiane città di Busseto.

She has taken part in numerous concerts organized by the Pavarotti Foundation, with which she has collaborated since December 2017.

On August 26th, 2018, she made her absolute debut at the age of twenty in the Verdi Opera Night at the Arena di Verona, conducted by Maestro Andrea Battistoni and directed by Stefano Trespidi.

She has participated in various Masterclasses, including one with Maestro Donato Renzetti at the Aria di Musica academy, and one with the famous baritone Luca Salsi at the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, both in 2018.

BIOGRAPHY

She was invited by Ildar Abdrazakov to sing in the Verdian Gala opening the Abdrazakov Fest in Ufa in March 2019, conducted by Maestro Fabio Mastrangelo.

In the same year, at just twenty-one years old, she debuted the role of Mimì in Giacomo Puccini's La Bohème in the theaters of the Tuscan circuit, conducted by Maestro Gianna Fratta, and directed by Bruno Ravella.

Then, in the summer, she debuted as Teona in Manfroce's Ecuba at the 45th Valle d'Itria Festival, conducted by Maestro Sesto Quatrini and directed by Pierluigi Pizzi.

She made her debut as Adina in Donizetti's L'Elisir d'amore in September 2020, conducted by Maestro Michele Spotti and directed by Victor Garcia Sierra, and as Donna Anna in Mozart's Don Giovanni the following year, conducted by Maestro Sascha Goëtzel and directed by Giorgio Ferrara, at the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari.

She reprises the role of Adina at the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari in March 2022, conducted by Maestro Roberto Gianola and directed by Michele Mirabella. There, in the summer of 2023, she debuts Micaela in Bizet's Carmen, conducted by Maestro Fabrizio Maria Carminati, directed by Renato Bonajuto.

She was Mrs. Alice Ford in Verdi's Falstaff with Bryn Terfel in the title role, conducted by Maestro Gianluca Marcianò, in the summer of 2022, invited by the Orchestra della Magna Grecia. This invitation gives her the opportunity to perform Verdi and Puccini recitals alongside internationally renowned artists and to debut Strauss's Vier Letzte Lieder, in the summer of 2022.

She won the 73rd edition of the AsLiCo competition and debuted Bellini's Norma at just 25 years old, performing it in the theaters of the Lombard circuit and the Verdi theatre in Pisa, conducted by Maestro Alessandro Bonato, directed by Elena Barbalich.

She takes on the role of Norma, debuting at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna in March 2023, this time conducted by Maestro Piergiorgio Morandi and directed by Stefania Bonfadelli.

Then, she refined the role with Maestro Riccardo Muti during his academy at Fondazione Prada in Milan, where she is invited to cover the protagonist in November 2023.

She is invited by Asti Lirica for a Puccini recital in the summer of 2024 at Palazzo Michelerio.

Then, she returned to the Arena di Verona as cover for the role of Micaela in Bizet's Carmen, in the 101st Arena season.

In the same summer, she took part in a concert in Kaliningrad, organized by Rosconcert, in Cathedral Square, conducted, once again, by Maestro Fabio Mastrangelo.

In the 2025/2026 season, she made a highly successful debut at the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb as the title role in Norma. The production was chosen to open the season under the baton of Maestro Piergiorgio Morandi, who handpicked her for the role following their recent collaborations in Bologna.

During the same season, she was also engaged by ABAO Bilbao Opera for their production of Gaetano Donizetti's Maria Stuarda, covering the title role.

Summer 2026 marks a long-awaited return to the Arena di Verona, where in 2018 she set an extraordinary record as the youngest solo artist to debut in the history of the Festival. For this new season at the Arena, she will be involved in the productions of Aida and Turandot, covering the roles of Aida and Liù.

The striking Teatro Sferisterio in Macerata sets the stage for her July 2026 role debut as Leonora in Giuseppe Verdi’s Il Trovatore. Conducted by Dmitri Jurowski, she brings the Verdian heroine to life within Francisco Negrin’s directorial vision, revived by Angela Saroglou.

She will return to ABAO Bilbao Opera in February 2027 for Gaetano Donizetti’s Roberto Devereux, marking the conclusion of the Donizetti Three Queens cycle. She was specifically sought after to cover the highly coveted and complex role of Elisabetta.

In March 2027, she will return to the role of Norma for the revival of the production at the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb, under the baton of Maestro Piergiorgio Morandi.

She has been invited by the Fondazione Arena di Verona to perform in a concert this coming August 8th, set in the magnificent surroundings of the Teatro Campo degli Ulivi on Lake Garda. She will be accompanied on the piano by Superintendent Cecilia Gasdia.

She will also take part in the New Year’s Concert on January 1 2027, at the Teatro Verdi in Florence, alongside the Orchestra della Toscana and the Harmonia Cantata Choir. Conducted by Maestro Alessandro Bonato - with whom she reunites following their debut in Norma in 2022 - she will showcase an entirely Verdi repertoire, exploring nuances that range from the sweetest to the most heroic and dramatic.
